Application of Quartz Sand in Quartz Plate

Quartz sheet has become a new kind of mesa material in the world, and more and more quartz sheet products have entered consumers'families in Europe and America. The mature quartz Market in the world includes Australia, the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, France, Germany and other countries. Australia accounts for 35% of the world's quartz consumption in one year, followed by the United States for 22% and Canada for 14%.
Industry insiders say that the current quartz plate product market is similar to the stone market 20 years ago and the man-made stone market 10 years ago, and predict that quartz plate products will increase at an annual rate of 500% in the next few years, which has huge market space.
  1. What is quartz plate?
Quartz plate, also known as artificial quartzite, is a new type of stone synthesized by more than 80% quartz crystal, resin and other trace elements. It is a large-scale plate which is pressed by a special machine under certain physical and chemical conditions.
Quartz sand is the aggregate of quartz plate. Its high hardness and high temperature resistance make quartz plate scratch-free (Mohs hardness 7); stain-free (vacuum manufacturing, compact and non-porous); scald-free (temperature resistant 300 C); used (30 polishing processes need no maintenance); non-toxic and non-radiation (NSF certification, no heavy metals). It can be directly contacted with food.
II. Quartz Sand for Quartz Plate
Quartz sands for quartz sheets are very strict. Quartz sand for quartz plate produced by quartz sand processing plant should meet the following requirements:
Quartz sand particles are round and edgeless. Quartz sands for quartz sheets require that particles be spherical. The more spherical the particles are, the smaller the specific surface area is, the smaller the oil absorption value is, and the less resin is used. The resistance of non-granular quartz sand increases with mixing stirring.
  (2) Quartz sand has a good ratio of coarse to fine. Quartz used for quartz plate is divided into fine quartz sand powder and coarse quartz sand. Coarse particles are aggregates, equivalent to concrete stones and reinforcement; play a decorative and aesthetic effect. Fine powder is the filling and reinforcing action, similar to fine sand in concrete; make the board density higher, compactness better to achieve anti-fouling effect.
The whiteness of quartz sand is high. Coarse quartz sands for quartz sheets are required to be uniform in color, while fine quartz sands are required to have whiteness greater than 90 degrees. When the whiteness of fine quartz sand is greater than 90, it will not blacken when mixed with resin.
Quartz sand has low iron content. Quartz sands containing more iron will make the quartz plate produced miscellaneous and reduce the quality of the product.
_Quartz sand is dry without impurities. The impurities of quartz sands used for quartz sheet should be removed in the manufacturing process, so that the moisture content is less than 0.5%. It ensures that the finished quartz sheet does not contain any pollution sources and radiation sources, and is environmentally friendly.
_Quartz sand has high silicon content. Quartz sand as aggregate in quartz plate requires high silicon content (> 98%).
  3. Production of quartz sheets from quartz sand
At present, quartz sand used as plate is generally taken from high quality vein quartz and quartzite ore, and refined quartz sand for plate is obtained by crushing, screening, magnetic separation and other processes. Taking wet mineral processing as an example, the production process of refined quartz sand is as follows:
Quartz Raw Ore - Crushing (Magnetic Separation) - Beneficiation (Artificial and Photoelectric Separation) - Fine Crushing (Magnetic Separation) - Washing - Dehydration - Drying - Screening (Magnetic Separation) - Concentration (Artificial and Photoelectric Separation) (Magnetic Separation) - Finished Products
Quartz sand for plate is strictly forbidden to use pickling sand. Acid-pickled quartz sand is easy to retain acid substances on the surface of quartz sand particles, resulting in micro-acid and photosynthetic oxidation, and direct yellowing of the plate. It is easier and more efficient to remove acid residues from acid-washed quartz ore than acid-washed quartz sand, but the disadvantage is that part of the acid-washed quartz ore can not be washed, such as wampee in the middle of quartz blocks.
The raw materials for producing quartz sheet are 5-100 mesh quartz sand, 320-2500 mesh quartz sand powder, unsaturated resin, color and coupling agent, ultraviolet absorbent, decomposition agent, curing agent, etc.
  IV. Application of Quartz Plate
Quartz sheet is a uniformly dense and porous composite material made in vacuum, which is very suitable to play a role in complex environment. Its quartz surface has excellent corrosion resistance to acid and alkali in kitchen, it will not be scratched by knife shovel, it will not penetrate micro-liquid substances, it will not produce yellowing and discoloration. Even after long-term use, its surface is as bright as the newly installed countertop. It does not need to maintain and maintain its excellent performance so as to make it in furniture and market clothing. Decoration market is very popular.
